Can I drink these juices like regular fruit juices or are they concentrated?
Great question! Superfruits come in many different forms in the store. Superfruits in the form of supplements generally are 1 or 2 fl oz. servings whereas the Superfruit ready-to-drink beverages are generally 4-8 fl oz per serving. Please refer to the labels as each product’s serving size may vary according to the brand. Thanks for taking interest. Let me know how you like them.

HI I JUST BOUGHT THE ICIA BERRY JUICE I HEARD ITS GOOD FOR WEIGHT LOSS SO I JUST WANNA KNOW HOW MUCH I HAVE TO DRINK IT AND WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO DRINK IT, LIKE MORNING ,NIGHT … THANKS .
Mirna,
Acai Berry Juice is a healthy alternative to sweetened fruit juices, sodas and energy drinks. To keep your energy up and your appetite down, I would recommend 2 – 3 glasses per day. Don’t drink too late in the day as the B Vitamins might give you too much energy when you are ready to wind down for the evening. Eat sensibly and try to get some exercise, even if it is a brisk walk in the morning or evening.
Thank you and good luck!
Dr. Lindsey
Hi Dr. Lindsey,
What do you recommend for jetlag? It takes me days to recover from a trip.
Thanks!
Hi Lynette
Several things work for me. Long flights are dehydrating, so the most critical thing to do is to make sure you drink plenty of water. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, which might worsen the jetlag in a overly fatigued body. Try to stay awake until bedtime, despite the length of the trip, and the time of day your plane lands. As you prepare for bed, drink calming teas, such as chamomile or herbal teas with valerian root. Finally, I take melatonin in the form of a drink with Montmorency tart cherries, which is a naturally-occurring food source of melatonin!

Have you heard of freekeh? I saw it on Dr. Oz and ordered a product called Greenwheat Freekeh. It is high in fiber, low in carbs and delicious to boot. I take it for IBS – and it has helped tremendously. I saw you today on The View and thought maybe it’s something you would be iterested in looking into. The health benefits are astounding!

Which super food is good for energy? I’d like an alternative to those energy drinks.
Thanx
Hi Sam,
Acai is great for energy! The anti-oxidant protection and essential fatty acids are also wonderful for healthy hair, skin and nails. Acai Berry Juice, found at Walmart (in the refrigerated section next to orange juice) also has 1,000% DV of Vitamin B12 and 200% DV of Vitamin C – this is natural energy with no added stimulants, sweetners or preservatives as nature intended! Let me know how this works for you, Sam!

I just saw you on The View and everything sounded very encouraging. I have been suffering from hives and have taken different medications to no avail. My doctor said I could be having this because of chemical imbalance in my body caused by different stresses. Would Goji be something that could work for me? Or is there anyone of your products that you can recommend?
If you had to pick one of the products featured (on the View) for a healthy 54 year old woman, which one would would you choose and where can it be purchased?
I am 64 years old and in good health, I do not take any medications. I have developed in the last couple of months a very dry scalp. The dandruff shampoos don’t seem to help. Is there something lacking in my diet that would cause this? If so anything natural I can take or use to help this?
Jean, Thank you for visiting my site. First, make sure you staying hydrated (especially if you live in a dry climate). Coconut water is a great way to hydrate. Seabuck Thorn (found in health food stores or visit http://www.genesistoday.com) has essential fatty acids that will help moisturize your skin from the inside out. Acai is also a great source of essential fatty acids and can be found in a delicious ready to drink juice called Acai Berry Juice and can be found in the refrigerated section of your local Walmart or Target store. Also, make sure any shampoos you are using are gentle and all natural, if possible. Using dyes in your hair may make your scalp more sensitive and dry. Your can massage lukewarm olive oil (about 2 TBS) into your scalp and leave on for 20 minutes to help relieve the itching. I hope these suggestions work – please let me know how these work for you and thank you for visiting my site!
Dr. Lindsey
Dr. Lindsey, I am glad Barbara asked because I want to know the same thing….Where is the best place to
purchase all 7 super foods? And how much do we take every day? I know you said a few of them
on the air and I am familiar with some of them but companies are using acai and mangosteen and I do not know
if this is the REAL stuff and how potent are their products in comparison to what you are advocating.
Also, you have a subtitle for vitamins and minerals but you do not say how much we should be taking. I would like to be directed in how much I should be taking and in what form. Presently I am taking isotonix vitamins because I prefer to not take pills. Thank you!
Hi Louise! You can purchase all 7 superfoods (in various forms) at Walmart locations (great ready to drink juices in the refrigerated section next to orange juice), Walgreens locations and Super Target stores. The ready to drink juices are generally an 8 ounce serving (but since this is food, you can drink several glasses each day). You can also find these in health supplement form at Whole Foods Markets and health food stores. Please be sure to read the label for instructions as brands will vary. I recommend you be sure to get at least the minimum daily value for all vitamins and minerals (especially Vitamin C and all the B Vitamins), as well as a good mineral blend (I prefer sea minerals). Of course, if you are sick, stressed, excercising or just run down, you may need more than the published RDA. For specific locations you can find these Super Foods, visit http://www.genesistoday.com and use the store locator to find the stores nearest you! Thank you for visiting and please keep me informed as to how you are doing!
Dr. Lindsey

Hi; My name is Midge and I am a paraplegic and I am always looking for thing that are excellent for my health so can I use all these products and are there any others or do you have a book I would be very interested! THANK YOU!!!!!!
Dear Midge,
I am writing a book right now!! Look for it early next year, but in the mean time keep visiting my site as I will be updataing it with new information weekly. You may also want to visit http://www.genesistoday.com as you will find alot of great information on more super foods that are good for you there as well. Thank you for your interest and I am glad this has been helpful to you!
Dr. Lindsey
Thank you for your question. To keep your system healthy I would follow a diet that will help you keep your body more Alkaline (rather than acidic). You can find guidelines for this in my Nutrition Philosophy tab. I would begin with Resveratrol because of its protective anti-oxidant properties and cardiovascular support. If you want to add another I would recommend Mangosteen becuase of its anti-inflammatory properties. Of course exercise and a positive outlook are a must! Please let me know how you do with these and I look forward to receiving updates from you in the future!
Dr. Lindsey
Dr. Lindsey, are these only super foods for females or can the male gender benefit from them as well?
Lynnae,
These are GREAT for men, women and children! I drink them every day!!
Thanks for the great question!
Dr. Lindsey
Can we give these superfoods to our kids, 9 Yrs old and up?? How do we give supplements to our kids, most doctors will tell you we don’t need them, eat better and you won’t need supplements.
What can children take to enhance their appetite?
Demetria,
Your children may or may not need nutritional supplementation, but it is important to remember that the soil our foods are grown in are being depleted of vitamins and minerals. Many foods grown in over-farmed soils are devoid of essential nutritients and have much levels of nutrients than they had just 50 years ago! This is one reason Super Foods are so essential – they are grown in native lands that have not been over-farmed and contains nutirents that we are not getting in conventional foods. Childrens appetites will vary, it is most important to ensure they are not snacking on junk food or empty calories throughout the day and they are not injesting sugary sweet beverages which may give them a false sense of being full at meal time. Thanks for visiting my site!
Dr. Lindsey
I have been taking a shot of the Noni 100 juice every day for the past four years (after having a bout with breast cancer). I am now 39 years old and have decided to try and have a baby with my new husband. Is it OK to still take the Noni juice and what juice is best for pregnancy?
Amy,
If you are taking a Super Fruit juice that is 100% pure with nothing added, like Noni100 is, then you are getting your nutriets from a pure food source! Of course, you should let your health care practitioner know everything you are taking or add to your diet and get his or her OK. Once pregnant, you will probablyalso enjoy Mangosteen, as it assists with inflmation and will help keep your joints feeling better, as well as your feet (which can become swollen with pregnancy). As you progress, you might want the added energy of Acai Berry Juice (found at Walmart in the refrigerated section next to orange juice) becuase of the vitamin B12 content (1,000% DV) and the sea mineral blend (minerals tend to be calming to body). The essential fatty acids found in Acai Berry Juice will also help keep your hair, skin and nails healthy during this time. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress!
Dr. Lindsey
Patricia,
You can find all the Super Foods I spoke about at Walmart (in the refrigerated section next to orange juice). The extra B Vitamins (1,000% B12 for energy!!) are essential for energy. Try making a smoothie (as was shown on The View) using a protein supplement (Protein100 is a great liquid protein – can be foudn at Whole Foods Market) and a good fiber – this will fill you up and help with your energy levels. Also try eating several small meals (5 – 6) throughout the day to keep your energy level constant throughout the day. Please let me know how this works for you, Patricia!
Dr. Lindsey
I see there are refridgerated juices, do you recommend non-refridgerated as well?
Hi John!
Thank you for asking – this is a great question. Yes, both refrigerated and non-refrigerated are equally beneficial. Please visit http://www.genesistoday.com to learn about both refrigerated and ambient juices and supplements. Good luck!
Dr. Lindsey
i am allergic to almost everything.i am in remission from chronic myeloid leukemia for 8 years and truly believe that proper nutrients and maintaining proper ph will prevent disease.i would love to try your products but am afraid of allergic reactions.is there any natural product i can take to counteract any reaction i might have?i am allergic to over 50 different meds as well as foods, perfumes, dyes, etc. my drs at vanderbilt have problems treating me due to this. can you help me in any way? thanks for your time
Pam,
The best way to approach a new supplement is to touch the product to your bottom lip first. Add a dab of the food or supplement to your lip, and then wait until the next day to see any reaction. If there is no reaction, experiment with literally a sip or nibble of the product, and again, wait until the next day. Be sure to document any negative effects, and if you have a history of anaphylaxis, be sure to have your prescribed emergency life-savers on hand (natural solutions might not be quick enough in the case of emergencies). Do not continue if you experience negative effects you think might be due to the product. If everything is okay, try increasing the amount slowly, the same way. If there has been a known negative, serious reaction in the past to any substance, then future contact with that substance should be avoided. I hope this will help – good luck!
Dr. Lindsey
Hi Dr. Lindsey-
I have had a few health problems the past year or so. I have gallbladder sludge, Candida overgrowith, adrenal fatigue and Leaky Gut/IBS. Needless to say, I haven’t been feeling well for a long time. I was just wondering which these products you think would best address or eliminate these particular issues. Thanks so much!
Jessica,
Be sure to follow an alkalinizing diet (under the nutritional philosophy tab). Also incorporate a 100% pure Noni juice (see http://www.genesistoday.com) to help cleanse the liver and gallbladder. Cut sugar out of your diet as much as possible. Begin slow and work toward your goals and you will succeed!
Dr. Lindsey
I recently heard you on Cosmo radio and you discussed a a detox that really got my attention. I was hoping you could tell me again what it was. I am interested in your products and am currently looking for them here in South Texas. I am going to fill out the questionnaire but wanted to try the detox as soon as possible.
Hi Christel!
Please begin by starting on an alkalinizing diet (under the nutritional philosophy tab on my site). Your complete health progaram will be returned to you and will also contain a detox program tailored specifically for your needs!
Dr. Lindsey
Hi! I loved listening to your talk on Cosmo radio! I have been wanting to get back on track after I had my baby 12/31/10. What is safe for me while nursing? In addition, will any of your products help sugar addictions?
Beth,
Try 100% pure noni juice to curb your desire for sugar. Nursing is a great way to get your body and systems back in check after your pregancy. Always check with your doctor and your pediatrician before beginning any new diet or supplement routine. Congratulations on your New Years Baby!
Dr. Lindey

Hello,
Would you suggest the continued use of fish oil, krill oil, and cholestoff with the core Genesis Pure products. By the way, the cleanse, balance, build products are great!
Judy
Judy,
Yes! A good EFA Oil is always recommended for any health program. I am pleased to hear the cleanse, balance, build program is working for you.
Keep in touch!
Dr. Lindsey
Dear Dr. Lindsey Duncan,
My son (18 years) has been on the Genesis Pure core products (as well as my whole family) for about a month now. We love the cleanse-balance-build products and what they are doing for our health. My son has been battling facial acne for several years and has been under the care of a dermatologist and is still using a Rx cleanser. We’d hope his skin would clear up on GP products but he is still breaking out pretty bad. What would you recommend for him to take to help clear up his facial acne? This has been really hard on his self esteem and I want him to feel better about his appearance.
I hope to hear back from you very soon!
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Kathleen
Kathleen,
A good internal cleanse would be my first suggestion. Our skin is the largest organ of elimination, and often a good internal cleanse is a great way to begin. Also, be sure your son cuts out all sugar (hard for a teenager, I know!). Eating a good Alkalyzing diet (under the nutrition tab) should also be followed. Good luck and please let me know how he is doing!
Dr. Lindsey
Dr. Duncan,
I just saw you on the Dr. Oz Show. Do you know anything about the Mangosteen? I heard it contains Zanthones, which are good for many different ailments. Can you tell us what you know? (and where we can buy it).
Janis,
Mangosteen, from Thailand, does contain Xanthones which are great for inflammation and immunity support. Please read more about Mangosteen at http://www.genesistoday.com!
Thank you,
Dr. Lindsey
Hello Deb,
Thank you for watching me on Dr. Oz. Here is recipe.
The amounts of each ingredient can vary according to your preferences, but you can start with adding the following to a blender:
4-6oz Genesis Today Acai Berry Juice (sold in the refrigerated section at Wal-Mart superstores)
A serving of Suma root powder (purchased on-line or from a health food store)
1/2 banana
4oz Greek yogurt (try vanilla or plain Voskos for the highest protein content)
~6-8 ice cubes and blend
Drink and enjoy!
How do I determine which supplements are the best? Vitamins Minerals etc.. Each company will market to convince and there are few and far between non “influenced” medical research on these products. I cannot believe what the company says that sells the product as their statements are biased in my opinion. This makes it almost impossible for me to decide. Lastly I have been told that solid compressed pills such as the typical vitamin will not be digested completely and the acid from the stomach will only eat through half of it. The rest is wasted and goes through your system. I have also been told that liquid form of anything is chemically unbalanced and is vulnerable to temperature change during delivery to stores and storage at home. For example Creatine in liquid form will change to Carnitine or something again I read a while back. So i am also scared to purchase liquid form of anything. Powder products are suppose to be the best as they have the largest surface area (since its powder) and is not liquid so will be chemically balanced.
For example Silica how do I determine which brand and form (solid, liquid, powder, gel etc)
thank you for your time!!
David
I understand the frustration that you are experiencing while trying to make the best choices with your supplements. Although the internet can be a helpful tool to obtain information, not all of it is reliable, which can make things even more confusing. If something doesn’t make a lot of sense when you read it, evaluate the person who wrote it. Take notice of whether the author of the written information is given, and if the author has credentials in the field. If no credentials or references are listed, keep searching for information by a more credible source.
Many of the supplements available are in the herbal or botanical category, and since plants have been on this planet for a very long time, they have likely been used traditionally for centuries, and extensively studied by researchers – probably more so than many of the pharmaceuticals we use today!
The botanical supplements and herbs are prepared in a variety of ways, and the methods used can be important. For example, certain herb tinctures are best suspended in an alcohol or glycerin base for their stability, whereas other are better in water.
Within each category of preparation there can be issues. For example, powders can be made from inferior quality product, whereas a liquid must use very high quality ingredients. Powders and gels need to be in solution and require adequate amounts of liquid to dissolve and be absorbed (which may help you with the Silica question). Many liquids stand up fine in a natural state without excipients and emulsifiers if shaken thoroughly, and the absorption rate is usually best with a liquid, or a thoroughly dissolved liquid solution.
Tablets can be okay if they are natural, if they can dissolve in water, and don’t have binders or a hard, impenetrable casing holding them together. Many hard minerals (like Calcium),can be hard for the body to digest and absorb – usually only about 20% absorption for a tablet, and still only about 70% for liquids – and many of these hard tablets can pass through the digestive system and be eliminated without contributing any nutrients to the body.
Many people lacking stomach acid or who have an impaired or damaged intestinal lining (due to food intolerances, medications, alcohol, etc.) may not be able to properly absorb nutrients. In this case, liquid supplements are likely the best option. Dissolving tablets in water is a good test to see if your tablet can be properly broken down. Other great choices include soft gels, capsules and liquicaps (capsules filled with liquid).
Any product can be subjected to a variety of processing techniques and methods, so it is best to choose from a company that has a good reputation, and is trusted by health food stores with high standards.
Hi Dr. Lindsey,
I am wondering if I can get your advice on how to use Graviola, in capsules or tea. What is a required dosage, or how long could it be taken?
Hi Izabel,
Graviola is a fantastic herb for boosting the immune system; however, the herb has been shown to have antimicrobial effects and can be very detoxifying. If using too much of this herb quickly, you can enhance the effects of a “die-off reaction.” A die-off reaction occurs when toxins and wastes are pulled from tissues into circulation at a rate faster that the channels of elimination (colon and liver) can dispose of them, making us feel worse before we feel better. Subsequently, it is best to start off slowly when using this herb.
Graviola is a water-soluble herb, and can be found in capsules as well as in loose herb or powder form. The capsules can be taken as directed, but the herb is best prepared as a tea infusion. You can use a French Press to steep the tea, and use one teaspoon of the herb or powder for 8oz of water. Pour boiling water over the herb and steep it for 10 minutes. Strain the tea and drink it warm. To start slowly, make just a cup or two at a time. Start with just a half a cup, once or twice a day. If that is well-tolerated, you can work up to as much as one cup, three times daily. Decrease the amount of tea or graviola herb if drinking higher amounts becomes less well tolerated, as die-off reactions can occur with increasing dosages. You can have a cup as needed for an immune booster, or you can take it daily for a few weeks, 2-3 times per year.
Drink to good health!
-Dr. Lindsey
Hi Dr. Lindsey,
I heard you on Cosmo Radio last week while I was in my car. You answered one woman’s question about digestion and it was a wealth of good information but I couldn’t write it all down. You talked about the flax seed grule, the acai drink you can get a walmart (been having trouble with regularly so I wanted to hear this info again).
You also mentioned something else I was also interested in hearing more about which was that all of our food is color coded. You listed quickly a few food items that we should be mindful of yellow: like bananas and purple: like egg plant… But do you mind sharing that list again? I want to share with the other Cosmo listeners and I would like to know for myself!
Thanks!!
Hi Lexi,
Ideally, we should be eliminating as frequently as the number of meals we consume, similar to the feeding and elimination schedules of infants or our pets. If we aren’t eliminating at least twice a day, there is likely waste accumulating in the body. Here’s the remedy:
Get a good source of fiber that contains cold-milled flax and hemp seeds (ideally also having Gymnema, slippery elm bark, cat’s claw, noni, and nopal cactus to improve the health of the digestive tract), and mix a serving of the fiber with 4-6oz of acai berry juice (like the one found in the refrigerated section at Wal-Mart), and have this every evening.
Cleansing is also a good practice to do for at least 4-6 weeks, twice a year. A cleanse kit that contains herbs for whole body detoxification with herbs that facilitate healthy elimination is best. A cleansing formula will help to pull toxins stored in tissues while enhancing their removal from the body.
To make the flaxseed gruel, put 2 Tbsp of rinsed whole flaxseeds in a mug and pour boiling water over them. Cover the mug with a saucer, and let them stand overnight. In the morning, you can blend this mixture with 6-8oz of acai berry juice. For very resistant bowels, you can make a cup of Smooth Move Tea.
The colors of certain foods have been traditionally associated with health benefits. Generally speaking, here are the connections that have been found:
- Yellow foods are natural laxatives
- Purple foods heal the body
- Red foods provide fuel and are especially good for the heart
- Green foods are the building blocks to good health
Thanks for listening to the show; I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Dr. Lindsey
I have a serious digestive problem. I would like to know the best way to take cat’s claw. Should I purchase the root and cook it? If it comes in the form of herb tea, could I just drink it as a tea? Or could I take it in a supplement form? how would it be the most beneficial to me, and where can I purchase it?
Hi Barbara,
Cat’s Claw is an herb from the rain forest that has been used traditionally by the people of the Amazon to support healthy immune function, gastrointestinal relief, inflammatory processes, joint mobility, and more. It is usually acquired from the bark of the vine, and made into a powder for use in capsules, teas, and tinctures. I like to add Cat’s Claw to my blended fiber products for additional digestive support, but the herb can found through various companies sold by on-line vendors (just search Google.com) and local health food stores.
Can you tell me the best way to test our own body’s PH levels and where we can find a place to purchase the tests? I have looked at the stores and all they have is Keytone test strips
pH strips (or litmus paper strips) can be purchased from the health food store vitamin isles. They can be used to dip into collected saliva or urine to test the body’s pH level by comparing the color of the tested strip against a color chart with a corresponding pH number. Generally, we want the pH level to come close to the pH of blood, about 7.4. Since urine pH is representative of the acid the body eliminates, it normally tends to be more acidic than saliva values.
